Johannes & Hannah

We are getting married on 31 August 2019!

Johannes Persson

I’m a 25 year-old guy from Sweden. I like numbers, thinking deep, and sometimes music. I enjoy seeing people get happier and find their purpose.

Hannah de Jong

I’m from Holland but now I’ve lived in Sweden for a while. I am excited about my future together with Johannes! I love singing and dancing and meeting friends.

.And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Anyone who lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

Our story

Every couple has a story. Ours might not be the grandest and most dramatic, but it’s our story. And we’ve loved every part of it, the highs and the lows. Maybe you know the story, maybe you’ve never heard it before. But here it is.

5 September, 2015

First time we met

It just so happened that we were set to live together in the Vineyard house before we even met. With Hannah beginning an internship in Stockholm and Johannes returning from the US, we met and had fun from day 1.

17th November, 2015

Love is in the air

Quickly catching interest in each other, we begun dating in November 2015. We enjoyed our time together to the fullest extent. But a dark cloud rose on the horizon – Hannah’s time in Sweden was coming to an end, and we realized that we would have to part.

16th July, 2016

Parting from each other

The time had come to live apart: Hannah in the Netherlands, Johannes in Sweden. Saying farewell was one of the hardest things we had to do. We had many nights of video calls, and visited each other. But we hoped that we would be together again, one way or another.

20th February, 2017

Reunited again

After eight months, we were together again! And this time for good. We loved our church, hanging out with our friends and family, went on outdoor adventures and Hannah got a stable job. Life was coming together.

2nd November, 2018

Popping the question

After three years, we both knew that we wanted to be together. In November 2018, on a mountaintop in California, we took the exciting decision to choose each other for life. Though the future is uncertain, we know that our lives will turn out well when we continue to follow God into the future.
